Welcome to Trezor.io/Start® – Your Official Hardware Wallet Setup Guide

Congratulations on choosing Trezor® — the world's first and most trusted hardware wallet for securely storing cryptocurrency. This official setup page is your step-by-step guide to begin using your Trezor device safely and correctly. Whether you're using the Trezor Model One or the Trezor Model T, everything starts at https://trezor.io/start.

Why Trezor®?

Trezor is a hardware wallet developed by SatoshiLabs. It stores your private keys offline and secures them from online threats such as hacking, malware, and phishing. With support for thousands of coins and tokens, Trezor helps you manage your digital assets with full ownership and peace of mind.

What Comes in the Box?

When you unbox your Trezor® device, you should find:

Make sure the packaging is intact and has not been tampered with. If you notice anything unusual, visit the Trezor Support Center.

Step 1: Go to trezor.io/start

Open your browser and visit the official onboarding page: https://trezor.io/start. This ensures you’re not using a phishing website. Trezor will guide you to download the official app: Trezor Suite.

Step 2: Download Trezor Suite

Trezor Suite is the official application for managing your crypto assets with Trezor. You can download the desktop version for Windows, macOS, or Linux at:

https://trezor.io/trezor-suite

There’s also a web version at https://suite.trezor.io/web/, but for maximum security, the desktop version is recommended.

Step 3: Connect Your Device

Use the included USB cable to connect your Trezor® to your computer. Launch Trezor Suite and follow the prompts to begin the initialization process. The app will check your device’s authenticity and ask you to install the latest firmware.

Step 4: Create a New Wallet or Recover an Existing One

The recovery seed is your backup. It allows you to restore your funds if your device is lost or damaged. Write it down, never store it digitally, and keep it in a safe place.

Step 5: Secure Your Device with a PIN & Passphrase

Set a strong PIN to prevent unauthorized access to your wallet. For extra protection, enable a passphrase — an advanced feature that acts like a 25th word on your seed phrase.

Remember: if you lose your recovery seed or forget your passphrase, your funds cannot be recovered.

Step 6: Start Managing Your Crypto

Once your wallet is set up, you can:

All activity is confirmed on your Trezor screen before execution, keeping you protected from malicious software and browser-based attacks.

Built-In Privacy & Security Tools
